Vintage Zanesville Pottery
Vintage Zanesville ZSC 4105 or Zanesville ZSC 4406 Pottery
Amazing, rustic pottery by the Zanesville Stoneware Company (ZSC) of Zanesville Ohio. Made in the U.S.A. ZSC is no longer in business.
The pot on the left is ZSC 4105. Its a round planter in the "Stoneage Modern" line (also sometimes known as "Homespun"). Concentric rings around the pot in a rich reddish brown/olive green glaze and chocolate brown drip glaze from top. Embossed mark on bottom with "ZSC 4105". Measures about 6-1/2" wide and 3-1/4" tall.
ZSC 4406 on the right is a Stoneware mixing bowl. This bowl is ribbed on the outside and glazed in a speckled teal, brown and olive green color mix with hints of the typical Zanesville yellow clay color showing through in the interior bottom, the ribs and the rim. The bottom is embossed with "ZSC 4406" on the bottom. Measures 7" in diameter and 3-3/8" tall.
Both in excellent vintage condition. Zanesville pottery is known for all its glaze pops, clay bumps and other uniqueness innate to its pieces during production, which you will find on these pieces too. Each weighs about 3 pounds.
